Mirror Mirror On The Wall
We bought some Hangman hanging things for our mirrors. It comes with the hanging system, screws and level. They are pretty easy to use. All you do is put the level in the wall portion of the gadget and screw it into the wall.
Then screw the other portion into the back of the mirror or picture:
Then screw the other portion into the back of the mirror or picture:We Have Water!
Here are some photos from yesterday and today. They textured the walls:

The concrete still had a few wet spots this morning:
Then sanding and painting:
We have 2 greens in our house and people generally don't notice the difference unless we point it out. Here's a picture with the flash to show the difference in the greens. They painted the wall behind the fridge dark green since it wasn't fully painted to begin with and then they didn't have to try and match a second green.
The back of the island looks great! I was very careful mopping, cleaning and putting things back in the kitchen, but somehow I nicked it and now there's a small white spot :(
This picture is not interesting at all because it's just a white wall, but it's after they finished fixing the hole in the pantry.
We have about 90% of our kitchen back and we have water (which is the important part!). The builder was able to find the original tile company and they still have our tile available, so he ordered some. Hopefully it won't take too long to get here and they can get our floor fixed quickly. We can't put the refrigerator back, so we can't put the table back. Things are almost back to normal though!

Done For The Day
Our new concrete:
Old pipes are cut and useless now:
New pipes put through the stud in the wall:
New pipes in the back of the island:
After waiting for everything to set, the plumber turned the water back on while the other guys started the sheet rock:
The back of the island is almost ready:

Do you have a slab leak?? Just follow these easy to see photos and you're problem will be solved. Uh, yeah right.
The plumber ran the tubing he needed.
The plumber ran the tubing he needed.
He added a sleeve so if we ever have problems again, we won't have to dig up the foundation again. PS This is how it should have been done in the first place:
It runs up under the island:
And the new tubes go into the wall behind the refrigerator:
Now it's time to fill the hole back in. OOOO they're mixing concrete on Doug's grass!! I'm telling.

I should find a job that will pay me to follow construction workers around and blog about it. :)
I didn't share the mess we made moving everything out of our kitchen, so here ya go:
I went in to spy on the plumber - I'm not a good spy since I announced I was coming in to spy on him. haha Doug and I have been trying to figure out how they're going to run pipe under our island, but not on top of the slab. There's a hole under the island, that's how:

Geez, I thought the jackhammering they were doing earlier was loud. They brought out the big-guns and I could feel the floor shaking throughout the house. I stayed outside for about an hour while they finished; I don't know how these guys still have their hearing! This was looking through the glass door:
It is SO dusty inside their aquarium, when they would open the door the dust would roll out like clouds.
Bye bye foundation

While I was outside, I found a bee so I moved him to our plants near our citrus trees.
I'm really glad we were able to get our side yard taken care of over the weekend because these guys have been walking around admiring our yard. The builder said it was nice to see we are taking care of our home because so many homes he goes to look at have weeds that are feet tall and their homes are all cluttered and messy. (Little did he know our weeds were feet tall before Saturday. lol)
Here is the trench they made:

When I went in to see what they had done, one guy says, "Picture?" I had to laugh inside; these guys have me pegged. There is one guy here cleaning and cleaning just like he was instructed. You can tell he's the low man on the totem pole; poor guy :( He's the only one in the aquarium right now and he's brooming and brushing away.
It's Noisy In Here
Here we go....
The builder and the lead guy were here at about 7:45, I was barely out of the shower and I still had to empty the dishwasher in case they needed to move it. They were still waiting for a couple guys to get here, so I was able to get some makeup on, the dishwasher emptied and a few other things moved out of the kitchen. Then they began the containment; which took about an hour. Now our kitchen looks like an aquarium that I can't see into. It was kind of funny to watch them try to move the refrigerator because it's so big. They couldn't fit it around the island, so they put it in the living room. Here's the taping they did, so they could start hanging the plastic.
Covered the flooring...

Our fridge in the living room...
Plastic going up....

DANG IT! Now I can't see inside...
That didn't stop me from running around the house and going in through the back door...
Umm, jackhammering INSIDE a house is noisy!!!
Inside the aquarium:
What they've removed so far:
The lead guy is super nice! When I hear them stop making noise I run out the front door and around the house and then I stand outside the back door and he says, "Come on in," so I can take pictures. HAHA.

HAHA. It's kind of funny that they are all speaking Spanish and I'm assuming they think I can't understand them; I'm not fluent anymore, but I catch a lot of it. hee hee.
The builder told the lead guy that he needs two guys to stick around all day to "Clean, clean, clean, clean." I the way he thinks! Also, the tile guy was here and said, "Hopefully they still have your tile available or you'll have a whole new floor." Our house is 5 years old and companies move products and change products so often that he's not sure if they'll be able to match the tile. At this moment, we have about 5 work trucks out front, about 8 guys working (or waiting for their portion of the job) and a lot of noise.
