Uneventful Week

We had an uneventful week, but it was very busy as far as work goes.  Both of the companies we work for are gearing up for a busy end of the year; it makes for some stressful, long days.  Poor Doug has been sick while dealing with his crazy work days.  He doesn't get any rest when he gets home because he has to deal with Ruger.

Since Doug is sick, I stopped at Panera Bread and picked up soup, bread bowls and a salad.  Oh, Panera, how I love you :)

Soup is always better in a bread bowl!  Doug got tomato and I got broccoli cheese:

An uneventful week for us means lots of time with Ruger and silly pictures of him.  We have a couple very silly videos to post, but I'll have to do it from another computer since Ubuntu and iPhone don't have a fix so I can access my phone on this laptop.  In the meantime, here is a picture of Ruger and his frisbee.... it's not much of a frisbee anymore.  It doesn't unfold very well anymore, so its become a chew toy:

Doug was really feeling like crap on Thursday and Friday.  One of my coworkers/friends heard me talking about Doug being sick and she made him a kit with goodies to help him get better - very sweet!:

Doug took a long nap yesterday, so he's feeling a little better.  Hopefully he'll be able to sleep a lot today, so he'll feel much better before work tomorrow.  Both Doug and Ruger are currently sleeping, so it's quiet and calm in the house right now.

We think we're training Ruger, but in all reality, he's training us.  He poops and Doug cleans it up.  He's hungry and we prepare his meal.  He puts a toy in our lap and we throw it.  He makes huge messes and then we clean them up:

What the heck!  I need such a rough life! I want someone to cook for me, clean up after me, brush my hair, give me treats, etc. :)

Ruger carries his bone and another toy around (we think he uses the toy to disguise the bone, so no one will take it from him) and he whines while he wanders through the house trying to find a hiding spot.  I don't know why he stresses so much about his bones now.  He used to sit and chew them up, but now he carries them around and cries for upwards of a half an hour sometimes.  Silly puppy.

Pooped Out!

Before we left for the night, we went through Downtown Disney again.  We didn't even notice this giant Lego dragon the night before, so Doug took a few more Lego pictures:

A friend's daughter works at Downtown Disney and she offered to do a Henna tattoo; she also did a colorful, glittery butterfly on my wrist:

I don't remember if the Lego Hulk was posted in the billion other pictures I already posted, so this might be a rerun...but he's cool, so it's okay!!

We went to Bubba Gump Shrimp for my birthday dinner when we left the park.  I was surprised they were open so late.  I love the Forrest Gump movie, so I was pretty excited to finally go to a Bubba Gump Restaurant.  We bought a keychain before we left and I lost it before we even got home :(.  I called the restaurant and they are sending me another one, but wanted to charge me $8 shipping.  Really!?!  Uh, no.  I didn't have to pay for the shipping after all.

We were so tired, but dinner was great.  It was so wonderful just to sit down for a while!

We only ate in the parks twice - and we didn't even plan on that.  We ate one meal at the parks each day and it was only once at each park.  Our first meal was at Disney:  2 green salads and a fruit salad = $34!  The second meal we had at CA Adventure:  2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks = $25!  $60 to feed 2 people for 2 meals is crazy, but we expected it.  How people can feed their whole family throughout the day is bonkers.  We packed in PBandJ sandwiches, juice, water and string cheese; the sandwiches were so smashed and gross when we were eating them, but they were easy and free! :)  (And we didn't have to stop having fun to go eat somewhere!)

If you go to Disneyland, you need this app!  Disney Parks Mobile Magic was such a huge help!  We could find how long the wait times were for the rides near us (or even far away), check on show times, find our way around the park, or locate a restaurant.  You can see the Cars ride is at a 2 hour wait at 8:15pm.  Crazy:

The butterfly I mentioned above - it's peeling off already because after 14 hours at the parks, I really needed a hot shower and I wasn't supposed to get it wet for about 12 hours:

 I set our alarm for early a.m. so we could get up early to head home.  I apparently set the alarm for "weekdays" and it was Saturday, so the alarm never went off.  I woke up in a panic and we were up and out the door in about 30 minutes.  Doug grabbed some donuts at the free breakfast while I checked out.  Glad we showered before we went to bed!!

The main area of California Adventure becomes the Mad Hatter Tea Party, it is quite a club scene!... The music, lights and colors were really fun:

Tower of Terror - we never made it on this ride.  We got the Fast Pass earlier in the day, but we felt so sick after the ferris wheel that we ended up skipping this one.  It looked neat at night:

I was so bummed Disneyland wasn't doing fireworks while we were going to be there, but LOOK!!!  They did fireworks for the Halloween party.  YAY!!  It wasn't the fun Disney fireworks show, but I'll take it!

Time to head back to the hotel.... but there was still more fun to be had!

Our last ride on the Radiator Springs Racers was at night; it was about 9:30.  It was pretty at night and the ride was just as fun the third time:

After a 45 minute wait it was finally our turn!  We were told it's was worth the wait and we would love it.  This ride was super fun.  It was a ride that you play arcade games when it stops at different screens.

Doug kicked my butt!  My arm got so tired pulling the string on the gun thingy.  One screen was a game where we had to shoot moving plates, another was a ring toss, then a darts game, etc.  They were really like the carnival games you find at any fair.

 Back in the Bug's Life area.  We went to see the It's Tough to be a Bug show.  Cute Beauty and the Bees poster:

More 3D glasses!  The bug show was a crack up!  They showed us a bug that sprays acid to kill it's prey, then they misted the audience with water.  Next was a stink bug that farted at us and it started to smell like a fart.  When they mentioned spiders I put my head down and Doug told me to keep my head down and not to look because they were lowering huge black widows from the ceiling.  YIKES!!  When wasps were on the screen we were poked in the back through our seats.  At the end of the show the ant said we had to wait until the cockroaches cleared the area and something started rolling under our seats up and down the row, so it felt like bugs were crawling under our butts.  It was a very cute show...except for the spiders!  A little kid ran out of the theather when the spiders were dropped from the ceiling.  Poor thing.  The mom chased after him/her.

Monsters, Inc.

We finished our time at Disneyland...well, Disneyland decided that for us since the park closed at 7pm.  BUT California Adventures was open until midnight.  I liked the Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue ride.  The characters are so cute:

Those buttons sure helped us meet a lot of neat people!  Everywhere we went cast members and random strangers were saying happy birthday and everyone wanted to give us ideas and suggestions when they saw the "1st Visit" button.  I also got a "Just Married" button because it had Cinderella on it :)
