Lobster Feed

We went to a lobster feed on Saturday evening.  They brought us the entire lobster!  I've never ripped a lobster apart, but it wasn't too hard:

We had to stay up with the crazy, over energized dogs because they slept all evening on Saturday.  I was up until after midnight trying to keep Winnie calm and in her bed so she would fall asleep.  Sunday was a long, lazy day because we were so tired.  I didn't feel well - I get stomachaches if I don't get enough sleep or if I don't sleep well.  We put a sheet down so they dogs would lay with us and sleep.  It's an easy way to make sure they aren't destroying things while we try to sleep:

Ruger had his feet wrapped around Winnie's head and she didn't seem to mind.

Destruction Continues

A neighbor's toy was in our yard, so Ruger destroyed it:
Yuck!  Nasty dog hair...the joys of 2 black dogs...
Somehow the monsters managed to twist the arch on the table.  Luckily it twisted and snapped back into place:
 Duck destruction:

Frisbee destruction - the Frisbee is amusing because they both hang onto it and run around together:

Crazy Weather

It was an exciting evening last week!  We had rain, hail, thunder, lightning and tornadoes!
Even the dogs wouldn’t go outside.

I was out pruning the fruit trees and fertilizing so the rain would do the work to get the granules into the soil.  Doug came out and told me I should come inside and then thunder rolled through.  I held the metal hedge clippers in the air and yelled, “HAMMER!!” like Thor does in the movie. HAHAH

I found a cute little snail while I was working.  I asked Doug to take a picture because I’ve never seen such a tiny snail….then I threw it over the fence so it wouldn’t eat my fruit tree leaves.  Yep, I have a tender heart!! HAHAH
Just so you don't think, "Hey, she didn't post anything her dog destroyed."  Here you go!!

Baby Steps

I’ve reached the breaking point…I hope!  I’ve accrued enough jiggly parts that I’m finally sick of them and am going to do something about it.  I ordered T25 and I’m nervous and excited to get started.  I’ve been at the 3rd step from the bottom for a very long time.  It’s finally time to take more steps!  I've had plenty of excuses, which is why I'm nervous.  A long time friend became a lifestyle coach and I figured it's a perfect time to toss out the excuses and get it done!

Don’t Stomp on Sharp Objects

We started our day with tired pups, which is really nice!  We are giving them allergy pills, so they won’t itch so much through the beginning of the spring season.  The pills make them sleepy – BONUS!!
Last night Doug and I were playing with the dogs, running around like crazy and just trying to wear them out.  Playtime ended for me when I stomped on their dog bone and put a hole in my foot.  WHOOPS!  It was swollen, burned like crazy and throbbed for a couple hours.
It wasn’t very swollen this morning and wasn’t too bad to walk on after I put a bandaide and a shoe on.  This is the bone I stomped on:

Flowers and Guns

Becky was having a poopey day last week and I went to the store to make ice cream for my coworkers, so I bought some flowers too.  I found a bouquet that had really bright colors and the blue was perfect for Becky.  I ended up splitting the rest of the colors for everyone in the office.  Here are a few of the colors:
Becky and I went to Home Depot a coule days ago and I apparently can’t control myself when I’m walking through the garden center – I bought another fruit tree.  It’s a sour mandarin tree; the fruit is like a lime and orange mixture.  It was very green, had a lot of new growth and tons of flowers.

Every time our stupid state forces more gun regulations on us, we end up buying another gun before it’s considered illegal.
I’m sad my mini roses died.  I swear I can keep just about anything alive, or bring back a dead plant/tree, but mini roses are a challenge for me.  I follow the instructions, but they hate me.
Our aloe plant is going crazy again.  I swear this shoot wasn’t there a couple days ago!  I’m going to harvest some aloe soon!

Date Night

Doug and I had a date with Ben and Breanna.  Ruger and Winnie had a date with Nelope.  The dogs and I had a fairly lazy morning while Doug did some yard work.  Winnie was sunbathing for a while:

We met Ben, Breanna and Nelope at the dog park and the dogs ran around like crazy.  They ran around so much that it wore a couple pads off Nelope’s feet.  Poor thing!
We tried to get pictures with Nelope between Ruger and Winnie so they would look like an Oreo.  This is as close as we got:

Here are a couple doggie cuddle pictures.  They curl up next to the couch and I think Ruger scoots closer to her.  The other picture is at bedtime a couple nights ago.  Winnie plopped down on one bed and Ruger tried to get on the same bed because she usually goes to the other bed.  I swear Ruger is thinking, “Why is she on my bed!?!  Make her move!”

Our Dogs are Jerks

As cute as our pups are, they sure can be jerks.  I got home last Thursday and found a few shoes pulled from the laundry room.  Uh oh!  I’m glad they chewed up the cheaper pair of shoes and not the other 2 sets they also pulled from the laundry room.  I know I need to close the door when I leave, but I completely spaced it since I pulled shoes from the closet that morning.  Little punks!
I asked Ruger, “Did you do that?!?!” and he ran to hide under the table:

Then about 30 minutes later, I saw this – I know this was Winnie:
And a short while after that, the recently filled dog bowl was tipped and poured out almost all of the water.  We had a nice little flood in the kitchen:
It was quite an eventful couple hours!

Garden Update

I love our little garden and orchard!  Our little peas are growing and getting bigger day by day, so are our strawberries and edamame.  Even our fruit trees look a lot better than they did a month ago, although they still look really pitiful – they have a ton of new growth and flowers now.

We got solar lights to put around the grass on the side of the house because we have ninja dogs that we can’t see at night.  I really like the lights!  I stuck them in our strawberry barrel until we had time to stick them in the ground.
They look really neat at night – I’d like to get more for our other patch of grass:
