Another Year, Another Harvest

The amount of rain is affecting the trees at work.  This one started lifting out of the ground, so they removed it and the one next to it:

I've been trying to cut down my sugars and sweets for a few months now and what do I do to torture myself??  I walk down the cake isle at the store.  UGH!:
More organizing!  I was on a roll for a while, but only got a handful of things done.  I need to start getting the rest of our house in order and purge more stuff!  Here is the pantry before:
 After:
My coworker Mel is a lost dog magnet!  She found this little guy on her way into work early January.  He was so sweet and so much fun!:
I had a leash in my car, so I took him out for potty breaks.  Look at this fancy little guy!  We named him a few names, but Gizmo stuck:
Thanks Dove, I'm always up after my bedtime:
Harvesting lots of fruit before the deep freeze back on January 5th.  This picture is dark because I was harvesting by lantern light:

 So much fruit!!

Ruger being his normal "helpful" self laying on the frost blankets:

 Holy cow!!

More flowers blooming on the cactus.  This time they're a deep pink color:

 Pretty!:
Becky and I picked up lunch again at the BBQ place that offers free soft serve.  It was more like hard serve that day, but we still ate it:
 I went back for seconds:
My sewing helper.  He's trying to hit at me with a toy, but I'm packing up my sewing stuff for my next class.  Sad faced pup!:
Free Motion Sewing Class.  What a new world, a weird world too!  This take some practice for sure!  It was fun to learn though:

I think this style was my best one:

This one was pretty easy too, but still takes some thinking:
Working out again!!  Taking pictures to keep myself accountable!:
I turned around and saw this lovely little sight.  Our weirdo dog perched on the back of the couch.  What a goofball!! LOL:

Trying To Catch Up

The Christmas Cactus is going strong!  Another wave of flowers are blooming:

We spent New Years alone - this was our toast together.  We realized the apple cider was super dark and decided not to drink it:
Doug fell asleep while I was counting down to the new year, so here was my toast to the world:
We swapped out for cranberry sprite and redid our toast a little late:
I made homemade guacamole for our New Year's get together, but our dates cancelled so we ate the whole bowl ourselves LOL:
Winnie is a rescue pup, so we don't know when she was born.  We always celebrate it on 1/1 since it's a new year, new life for her.  Happy Birthday to our Winnie girl!:
She's so cute wrapped up in her sleeping bag:
Exhaustion at it's finest - Doug passed out and the pups sleeping nearby:
I ordered more Carolina Panthers fabric so I could make Doug's blanket longer.  This is the no sew blanket before.  It's under 6 feet long, so it doesn't cover him completely:
Now this sucker is almost 9 feet long!!  I removed the fleece from the back and added it to the ends:
The back is now one long piece of cotton:
Yay for new pans!  I wanted the larger skillet, but it only comes in a two pack.  Oh darn, I had to settle for getting 2 pans instead of one:
After the New Year people tend to make tons of resolutions, which are hardly kept.  I've been keeping up this working out thing since about June!  I haven't worked out for this long in a very long time!  Ruger always takes his place at the front of the treadmill and waits for me to finish:
Winnie hogs the futon while she waits:
I ended up jogging 4 miles one evening because I was determined to kick my friend's butts in fitbit steps.  I was ahead of everyone until I added a friend.  Who knew she was killing it?!?!?  Note to self:  DO NOT add a new friend if you're beating everyone!  Add them the next day instead!
This is my favorite salad, I could eat this every day!  This is a steak salad with a vinaigrette dressing:
And sweet potato fries!  Doug shared these with me since I'm trying to eat better:
 Doug's yummy sandwich:
Still at it!  I did NOT want to be on the treadmill this day, so I posted a picture to my workout group at 11 seconds.  I was doing it and not going to get in my own way!:
