Heartache

A long time friend's step dad passed away last month.  Another dad and father-in-law passed away too.  My heart goes out to all families involved.  I hope they are comforted by wonderful memories.

I caught "someone" giving the dogs bacon drippings.  We BBQ our bacon so we don't have splatters or the smell in the house.  OOO, I'm telling!!:

I made a couple pillow cases to send my nephews.  They made it just in time for Ethan's surgery:

Busy Saturday

I finally took some time to clean up, play with and put away all the new gadgets I got for Christmas gifts.  FUNNNN:

I even organized all my fabrics- more than half of these are Wizard of Oz:

I ran to spend time with friends and celebrate cutie Sophia's birthday - what a doll!:

Doug was home with the dogs and he sent me a picture of Ruger because he was being quiet and Doug found him where he shouldn't be:

It was almost tempting to buy this, but it's just Rice Krispies and marshmallows.  I couldn't bring myself to spend money on it.  'Merica:

YUUMMMM. Mongolian food date.  They always have to clean the grill for me because I can't tolerate spicy food:

I took a huge chunk of Sophia's birthday cake home to share with Doug.  It was tasty!

Rearranging

Our very own oranges!!  I've put a lot of years and love into this tree and we finally got decent fruit!  So exciting!:

Poor Becky's cat ran away and we went to the local shelter to see if someone turned her in.  No luck.  I sure hope Bluka is being cared for a loved by someone if she's not coming home.

Winnie's Anniversary

Our little crazy's anniversary was on January 17th. I can't believe we've had her for a year now!

We stopped at a pet store and visited these pretty pups that were looking for good homes.  They were so sweet!  The 5 month old puppies were adorable little fluff balls, but I didn't take a picture of them.

We took Winnie to the park to celebrate her 1 year; she ran until she was totally exhausted!:

Ruger got a small bite or scratch on his nose while at the park:

We went on a walk while Doug was at work.  They did really well until they saw a cat!:

I sent this picture to Doug and said, "Ruger misses you!!" HAHAHHA you're welcome!!

Moving Soon

One of the new Bare Minerals products is their liquid foundation.  I love the foundation, but I hate the bottle.  I try to get a little, little drop out and an air bubble gets trapped behind and a huge amount comes out.  So annoying:

My office moved about a month ago and I had the entertainment of helping our IT department pick up televisions for the new office.  I sent this picture to Doug and told him I went shopping. HAHA:

This sweet little face (my nephew) had to undergo surgery again.  They implanted a temporary pace maker to monitor his heart so they can see what might be needed to help him.  He's an amazing trooper!:

Yep, I have an angry eye.  This is the product of dry eyes and sometimes eye makeup.  BOOO!

My little (actually quite large) Foxy Eraser was packed up nice and comfy for our move to the new office.  Thanks Breanna!:

Baptism

What a cutie pie!!

Lydia's baptism was January 3rd.  Uncle Doug baptized her and I gave a talk on baptism.  It was a great afternoon!

My talk:
Lydia, we are so happy we can share this special day with you. 

Being baptized is your first official promise to Heavenly Father. 

In the scriptures, we read about Alma, who was a prophet.  He was preaching about baptism in private away from King Noah’s men.  Mosiah 18: 10-11 says:
10 Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
** Desire of your heart means this is something that you really want to do, not something you are told to do. **
 11 And now when the people had heard these words, they clapped their hands for joy, and exclaimed: This is the desire of our hearts.
** They were excited to be baptized and be a follower of Christ. **

I know Heavenly Father and your dad are very happy with your choice to be baptized today. I'd like to think they are clapping their hands with joy and excitement. 

There are covenants (which are promises) you make when you are baptized. 

One of the  covenants are to keep His commandments. We make a promise to do our best to follow Jesus' example. When you make a mistake, you can repent and try to do better.

Another covenant we make is to always remember Him. We can remember Jesus as the scripture Mosiah 18:9 says: "we stand as a witness of God at all times, in all things and in all places." 

Wherever we are we can be good examples and share the gospel with others. 

Sharing the gospel can be tough sometimes, but it doesn't need to be. 

Small actions on your part might be   big to someone else.  Even when someone is sad or struggling, we can help them and love them. 

Another covenant is to take upon yourself the name of Christ. As a member of the church, we do things that Jesus would want us to do to build the kingdom of God and to help others.
